ABA District II Solo & Ensemble; April 4 (Arab HS); April 30 (Jacksonville HS)

District 2 Solo and Ensemble festival deadlines will be here before we know it so here is some information that you may need as you prepare your calendar and students for the event.

  • Solo and Ensemble #1: Arab High School: 4:00-8:00 pm: Monday, April 4, 2011: DEADLINE FOR FORMS AND FEES, FRIDAY, MARCH 11.
  • Solo and Ensemble #2: Jacksonville High School: 8:00-4:00 pm: Saturday, April 30, 2011: DEADLINE FOR FORMS AND FEES, MONDAY, APRIL 4.
Remember, if you are the director at two schools and have students participating from each of those schools, you must pay the school fee for each.

By the way, please write in the site location, either Arab HS or Jacksonville HS, on your S & E registration sheet just so I can keep everything straight.

District II: Music Performance Assessment, February 23-25, 2011, Gadsden City High School

Listed are a few reminders for MPA:
  1. Click here for the MPA Performance Schedule.
  2. Arrival: please arrive at least one hour before your performance time.
  3. Percussion:
    1. Mallets: bring your own percussion mallets.  Gadsden City HS will not supply your group with mallets.
    2. Instruments: all the "big stuff" will be available on stage.  Each band will be expected to bring their own snares, cymbals, auxiliary instruments (claves, triangle w/ beaters, etc.).
  4. Recording: performance recordings will be available.
  5. Pictures: B Creative will be on hand to take on-stage pictures.  Click here for an printable order form.
